1. Definitions

  • “Aster Education” refers to the business offering tuition and educational services.
  • “Client” refers to the individual responsible for payment and agreement to these terms: the parent or guardian if the student is under 18, or the student if 18 or over.
  • “Student” refers to the individual receiving tuition.
  • “Service” refers to any course, programme, or one-to-one tuition provided by Aster Education.

2. Booking and Payment

  • All group courses must be paid for in full at the time of booking via our online platform.
  • Private tuition is invoiced following confirmation of the programme and must be paid via the secure payment link provided.
  • Bookings are not confirmed until full payment is received.

3. Cooling-Off Period and Refunds

  • In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations (2013), clients have the right to cancel any service within 14 days of payment, provided that the service has not yet begun. A full refund will be issued.
  • If a service begins within the 14-day period, the right to cancel is waived.
  • No refunds are available once a course or tuition programme has commenced, except where Aster Education cancels a course (see Section 5).

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Private Tuition may be rescheduled with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled or missed with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
  • Group Courses are non-refundable once the course has begun. Missed sessions cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
  • Aster Education reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course. In the event of cancellation by Aster, clients may choose between a full refund or an alternative date/course.

5. Course Changes and Minimum Enrolment

  • Group courses require a minimum of three enrolled students to run. If the minimum number is not met, Aster Education will offer clients the choice of a full refund or the option to transfer to a future course.

6. Student Conduct and Removal

  • Aster Education maintains a calm, respectful environment grounded in emotional safety and open communication.
  • Students are expected to treat tutors and peers with courtesy and respect.
  • In cases of repeated disruption, Aster Education reserves the right to remove a student. This will follow:
      1. A formal verbal warning to the student and parent (if under 18)
      2. A written warning
      3. Removal from the programme without refund if behaviour does not improve

7. Limitation of Liability

  • While every effort is made to support academic progress and wellbeing, Aster Education does not guarantee specific academic outcomes.
  • Aster Education is not responsible for any technical failures, platform outages, or issues caused by third-party tools or client-side internet access.

8. External Policies

These Terms & Conditions operate in conjunction with:
  • Aster Education’s Privacy Policy (in compliance with GDPR)
  • Safeguarding Policy (applicable to all students under 18)
  • Code of Conduct (aligned with The Tutors’ Association standards and our core values)

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
